Roof Certification Services
Roof certification can be required by your home insurance company and can also be mandated by your town or city. Many municipalities in Illinois including Calumet City, Lansing, and South Holland to mention a few, require your roof to be inspected when selling or buying a property. It is common for property owners to seek the services of a licensed roofer to help with this process.
This roof certification service consist of:
1. an inspection of the roof and its components, and
2. certification letter or Inspection report with roof findings. More details below.
Onsite inspection
A trained technician will meet the owner or their representative onsite. He or she will complete an inspection of the roof system and its components including the condition of the roof materials, roof penetrations, flashings, vents, gutters, downspouts, fascia and soffits to mention a few.
Certification
In order for a roof to be certified, it must have at least 5 years of useful life left, and be free of damages. As part of our service, we will also provide a written report notating any repairs that may be needed to certify the roof.
Cost
The cost for roof inspections and certification starts at $450 and is broken down as follow;
1. Inspection Fees $200-$400. These fee will vary depending on the property and roof type (due when scheduling your inspection):
$200 for inspections on residential properties one story tall, and up to 3,000 sf.
$300 for inspections on residential properties two to three stories tall, and up to 3,000 sf.
$400 for inspection on flat roofs up to 3 story tall and 3,000 sf.
2. Report / Cert Fee $250 (due before the certificate or inspection report is released)
